Our Story

Winemaking is a mixture of art and science. If we are not mindful to pay attention to the science of Mother Nature, we don’t get to play with the art involved in creating a wine such as Tickle Me Pink.

The name was created from that old saying and to make our consumers, well, Tickled Pink. Tickle Me Pink is a blended wine designed to be fun in multiple ways.

We get to play with the color to blend in just the right amount of red Syrah wine to get that beautiful salmon pink.

A fresh and just noticeable sparkle, effervescence.

The two main components are Pinot Gris and Muscat. Pinot gives the wine the full body and rich structure developing the aroma of the wine. Muscat adds the fruit forward floral bouquet to the wine.

Then to tweak the blend we add a third grape that we all grew up with as children. We all grew up with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. A small amount (just enough so you don’t recognize it, but it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling) of the grape variety used in American jelly is made into wine and added. This is where the true art of blending and the fun comes into play.

Unique Blend

Lightly sparkling Rose Wine with both a unique flavor profile and blend of grape varieties to include Pinot Gris, Muscat Canelli, Syrah, Zinfandel and Concord Grape! Yes, it’s not a typo, Concord Grape!

Fact: The concord grape for this wine is from the York Vineyard in Fiddletown, CA and is the only Concord grape planted in CA. It’s also the only wine on record using Concord Grape.

The Winemakers

Tickle Me Pink was created by a blend of three winemakers. The idea for the third secret grape variety is from Dr. Richard Peterson, Scott Harvey’s mentor and for over 60 years, and one of California’s most contributing winemakers. Dr. Peterson, Mollie Haycock and Scott Harvey all grew up in America.

So, they have a good feeling of the American palate. Scott’s European winemaking schooling and training has helped him in creating some of America’s most famous blends, Menage a Trois being one of them. Mollie’s work on three continents, (America, New Zealand, and South Africa) adds another dimension in blending. In Tickle Me Pink all three winemakers have created a blend that is fun, that is American.
